So recently God had been dealing with me about the lack of respect that I have shown my husband. Not only is it a lack or respect there but for men in this world. I am not saying that men don’t have flaws because all people on this earth do but men need to be respected.
Women need love and men respect. We as women think that love is what men need and that is not a necessity that is just something already built in us. A necessity is respect for men based on the Bible.
“So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
Ephesians 5:33 NLT
God calls husbands to love like Christ loved the church. He gives examples of love all through out the Bible and he explains it in Corinthians that love is patient and kind that it’s not selfish and keeps no record of wrong doings.
For respect I had to do some digging because I realized I’m called to respect my husband but I didn’t even know how to do that. I looked up the definition and some sermons in respect and found out that it is admiration and to hold in high regards.
My question to myself and to those reading who have a husband have you shown him respected. Then I thought about how we think about men in our culture and how there is always things being said about how men are dogs, how they lie, how we look down on the way they think and how they are.
Yet I’m realizing that we are speaking into existence what men are. We need to be finding the good about them and praising that. What God reveals about them that is not worthy we need to pray. We don’t need to speak about it but taking it to God in prayer.
God has created marriage for his glory and I believe that restoration will come to many marriages when men love their women and women respect there men. I’m gonna be putting this into practice in my life and I will share how it changed my life and my marriage because I believe it will!
